Overview
Ann’s interest in art and nature began in
childhood. She grew up in the suburbs of Cincinnati, with
plenty of woods, streams and fields to explore. Drawing
came natural, and nature has since provided the inspiration
for her art. A lifetime’s interest in natural history,
combined with a B. S. in Biology from Northern Kentucky
University, contributes to the accuracy and realism of
her drawings and paintings. Ann has worked as artist for
Cincinnati Nature Center in Milford, Ohio, since 1989,
illustrating and designing publications and interpretive
exhibits while pursuing the field of fine art. A self-taught
artist, Ann works primarily in watercolors and oils.
“I try to capture the spirit of life in my subjects
and the beautiful but subtle details found in nature. Perhaps
my art may open some eyes to this incredible world we are
part of – a first step in its conservation.”
