age of seven. A native of Cincinnati, she is a gratuate
of the Art Academy of Cincinnati (Bachelor of Fine Arts
1978), whose fine art program has a strong focus on traditional
realism. In 1976, Deborah studied in France in the tradition
of the old masters. She recently completed the first masters

She has also studied with John Michael Carter and Daniel

"I am inspired each day from painting from life.
I believe in painting a variety of subjects. Currently
my concentration is on commissioned portraits and figurative
works. I also enjoy plein air landscape and still life
painting. The combination of working from life as well
as mastering many disciplines of art greatly contributes
to a successful painting."
Deborah is a member of the
Cincinnati Art Club. Founded in 1890 by acclaimed artist
Frank Duveneck, Henry Farney and Edward Potthast, the
Cincinnati Art Club is the second oldest art club in the
country. Deborah is an alumni founding member of the Portrait
Society of America and has attended their annual educational
conferences and workshops throughout the country since
1998. In addition she is a member of Southwest Ohio Plein
