Overview
Dee began her art training in Detroit, Michigan
and received her Bachelor of Science degree in music and
art education from the Ohio Dominican College in Columbus,
Ohio. After teaching art and music in Lancaster, Ohio,
she moved to Cincinnati and continued her art studies with
local and nationally known artists. Dee is the mother of
4 children and the grandmother of 4.
My goal is to create something beautiful, inspirational,
and lasting. Each person is a unique, never to be repeated
individual; so each portrait is an adventure and challenge.
Just a likeness is not enough! Unusual composition and
characters plus wonderful colors, light and shadow are
the inspiration to paint. Elizabeth Nourse, Mary Cassatt,
and cecilia beaux have had significant influence on my
work.
Clients have commented that their child's or parent's
portrait are the future heirlooms. Their joy when seeing
the final product is very rewarding.
