Overview
Chris Felix (1968- )
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio Chris Felix is a free lance artist
who specializes in realistic acrylic paintings with sports
related themes. A graduate of Elder High School and the
College of Art Advertising in Cincinnati, Felix first received
recognition for his sports art as a sixth grader at St.
William Catholic School when his pencil sketch of Johnny
Bench won him a Cincinnati Reds autographed baseball in
a local department store's "Draw Your Favorite Reds Player" contest.
In 1997 Felix left a full time job with a major toy company that was headquartered
in Cincinnati to work on his fine art painting and spend more time raising and
coaching his children.
An active baseball player, Felix has been an outstanding shortstop for more than
2 decades. For the past several years he has been playing with the Cincinnati
Astros, a nationally respected Men's Over-28 baseball program. He also coaches
a Cincinnati Astros youth baseball team that has won a national championship.
He lives in Cleves, Ohio with his wife Allison and their children, Drew and Abbey.
Felix hopes as an artist to create images that not only excite the eye but create
a thought or feeling of passion inside the viewer as well. One of his latest
works, "Warning Track" has been accepted by curator Mike Shannon to be in a Traveling
Art Show. The Show is honoring Willie May's 75th birthday and opens January
10, 2006 at the Louisville Slugger Museum. More information on the show can be
